Kanban training
Kanban is a strategy for optimizing the flow of value through a process, using a visual pull system. Value can be understood in many ways, for example by considering the needs of the customer, the end user, the organization or the environment.
Kanban consists of three interrelated practices:
- Defining and visualizing workflows
- Active management of elements in the workflow
- Improving workflow
Implemented together, Kanban practices form a Kanban system. People involved in delivering value in the Kanban system are called Kanban system members.

What is ProKanban?
ProKanban.org is a non-profit organization promoting Kanban as a workflow improvement strategy. They also offer a range of Kanban certifications.
What is Professional Kanban I Certification (PK I)?
PK I is the first of the Kanban certifications. It certifies basic knowledge of Kanban and its applications. The exam consists of multiple choice questions and tests understanding of key Kanban concepts, principles and practices.
What is Professional Kanban II Certification (PK II)?
PK II is a more advanced Kanban certification. It confirms in-depth knowledge and skills in implementing and improving Kanban systems. The PK II exam is more demanding and covers topics such as workflow statistics, service classes, and advanced visualization techniques.
What is Professional Applied Metrics Certification (PAM)?
PAM focuses on using workflow metrics to forecast and improve predictability. The exam tests your ability to interpret data, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions.
What is Professional Flow Metrics for Scrum (PFMS)?
PFMS focuses on the application of workflow metrics within the Scrum framework. The exam assesses your knowledge of how to use metrics to monitor and improve the work of a Scrum team.
What is Scaling with Portfolio Kanban Certification (SPK)?
SPK is a certification for those interested in scaling Kanban at the portfolio level. The exam tests your ability to adapt Kanban to manage multiple work streams and coordinate activities across the organization.
